Rollers for hot strip and heavy plate

Work rolls, backup rollers and compression rollers for narrow strip, medium strip, hot wide strip and heavy plate rolling mills

In order to produce products such as hot strip, hot strip, heavy plate or thin plate, the properties of work rolls, backup rolls and compression rollers must be adapted to the specific demands in the rolling mill. As a result, these key rolling conditions and roll properties should be considered:

Scaffolding with high degrees of deformation and high thermal and mechanical loads:

  • good thermal conductivity
  • high heat resistance
  • Burcrack resistance
  • favorable gripping ability
  • sufficient fracture resistance of peg and core material

Scaffolding in which a custom-sized strip or sheet with good surface quality is produced:

  • high surface hardness with low drop in hardness as roll diameter decreases
  • high wear resistance
  • Burcrack resistance
  • Switch-off insensitivity
