WALZEN IRLE sets course for long-term growth
In cooperation with mPower Franke GmbH, the management of the traditional medium-sized company has succeeded in realigning itself and creating the basis for sustainable positive economic development within a short period of time.
With more than 440 employees, the IRLE GROUP is one of the innovative technology leaders in the field of rollers for the steel industry and mechanical engineering and is very well positioned in global markets.
Following extensive investments in machinery and equipment, WALZEN IRLE has come under severe pressure on both sales and earnings in recent years.
The IRLE GROUP responded to the identified need for action with a comprehensive and broad-based restructuring package to restore profitability. With Klaus Hägele, an experienced CRO (Chief Restructuring Officer) was brought on board as managing director. The measures initiated were wide-ranging, with a focus on improving liquidity, developing cost reduction programs in purchasing and administration, and setting up efficient controlling. In addition, sales activities were stepped up with a focus on new markets and the reactivation of industries and customers.
In the area of finance, process improvements took place, including establishing consistent financial communication, integrated corporate planning and a new calculation scheme. The optimization of production planning and processes with software support led to a significant increase in output and rounded off the measures.
It is particularly positive that the entire package of measures has been implemented without reducing jobs.
Today, the company has significantly improved structures and processes along the entire value chain. Together with managing partner Dr.-Ing. Petrico von Schweinichen, Thomas Fink will succeed Klaus Hägele as commercial managing director of the IRLE GROUP.
