Rolls for the Paper Industry

As a manufacturer of original parts for all common calender designs, we offer roller solutions for the entire production spectrum of the paper industry, including graphic papers, cardboard, packaging, tissue, and specialty papers. We develop and manufacture oil-, water-, and/or steam-heated thermal roll systems with optimal operating characteristics as customized solutions for specific customer requirements.

The successful operation of the entire paper machine—and ultimately the marketability of paper as a product—depends on flawless roller surfaces with appropriate temperature, shape, and concentricity characteristics under operating conditions.

THERMAL ROLLERS

Heated thermal rolls with peripheral holes, designed for the heating medium according to the well-known MonoPass, DuoTherm, and TriPass principles, are used in all finishing units and calender types in

• Soft Calendering
• Multinip calendars operated offline or online

CALENDER ROLLERS

Standard calender rolls are primarily used unheated, as solid castings with cast-on or bolted journals, in two-roll and multi-roll smoothing mills. We manufacture replacement rolls with improvements in both material and manufacturing.

ROLLER SHEATHING

For multi-zone rolls and floating rolls, we manufacture the tubes from various materials. For use in finishing rolls, we use—depending on the requirements—hard cast iron, modified chromium cast iron (KSTV), or hardened forged steel. For coated bending compensation rolls, we primarily supply pipes made of gray cast iron or ductile cast iron.
